BioStar 2 uses SQLite which is a file based system that can be inside of the application. So, it's possible to install the system without going through a complex DBMS installation or connection. Also, its user friendly UI provides self-explanatory functionalities to users. So, users can reduce time and efforts for system learning significantly.
BioStar 2 provides a powerful automatic user and access group data transfer feature. With BioStar 1.x, it's always an inconvenient part that user and access group data should be manually transferred and managed. With BioStar 2, the automatic user and access group data transfer to devices is supported, and no longer needed to manually check each device to make sure transferred user data status.
Furthermore, BioStar 2 adopted asynchronous data transfer type which makes it possible to use a device while transferring data from a server to a device. So, users do not need to wait until data transfer finishes and use a device without noticing anything.
*Note that the auto data transfer is an one-way direction from BioStar 2 server to connected devices. It does not support an automatic user sync feature from a device to a server.
BioStar 2 server version can be updated to the latest version automatically at the time of new version release, (BioStar 2 server needs to be connected to the Internet.) Users can expect latest bug fix and more stabilized performance, and it can help installers and system managers to save a great amount of time which was necessary to visit a remote customer site and just conduct a system update.
Mobile App is supported with BioStar 2 (from BioStar 2 2.1v) through BioStar 2 Cloud. Admin users can manage users and monitor system status anytime anywhere. BioStar 2 Cloud plays a role of making a network tunneling to a local BioStar 2 server which is normally behind a firewall and relaying data communication between a mobile app and a local server. Both Android and iOS version apps are available from each app market.
BioStar 2 supports Web API with REST/JSON format for almost of all features including Biometric data management. With this API, developers and system integrators can make an easier interface and system link and can develop own application by referring to source codes provided with BioStar 2 extension modules. (BioStar 2 extension module indicates features besides access control core functionalities, such as T&A and Video.)
Also, its light system architecture and Linux supported flexibility allows to be able to embed BioStar 2 server anywhere and create a new business synergy. Watch the below video and check the possibility.
