Even though BioStar 2 adopts the distributed access control system, it can be configured to support the centralized access control system by using its master and slave functionalities along with DM-20. DM-20 supports two Wiegand reader interfaces including Power, LED, and Buzzer control. As a result, it's possible to configure one master device with multiple number of Wiegand readers while maintaining an existing two or four door legacy type cabling, as below.
